The city is emerging from a coastal hotspot to now a sophisticated multi layer regional city, with a diverse market. Once a functioning market based on tourism, it is now a multi facilitated employment centre with the health industry being the main employer due to the baby boomer influx.

With large scale investment in recent years by Stockland, Queensland Health, St Stephens Private Hospital, first rate Public and Private Schools, Roads and Infrastructure, Fraser Coast has a solid base to grow, with a projected 37.83% increase in population between 2018 to 2036. The Infrastructure and Statistics show solid growth in both the residential and commercial market.
