As history goes, the builders of the house engaged a shipwright and his apprentice to do all of the wood work in the home using recycled wood. The floors are all NSW blackbutt and came from country primary schools that were being demolished. The large exposed beams came from the Old Mains Road Dept:- from bridges and jetties.
The beautiful front door with its stained-glass windows came from a home being demolished in the Western Suburbs of Perth, the entry features a beautiful wooden staircase that came from the Howard Law Chambers when they renovated to install elevators into their premises.
