The Green Square town centre major urban renewal project has taken another leap forward with the recent completion of two exciting residential projects the Jade and Uno Apartments. The two buildings, each with their own individual character, are part of City of Sydney Council's masterplan to transform the former industrial precinct into a modern, sustainably designed community for more than 40,000 residents.<br/><br/>The two developments comprise a series of five buildings constructed by BridgeHill Group across their site in the heart of the new town centre. The Uno development features three buildings with 328 apartments, surrounding a central courtyard, while the boutique Jade development is two buildings with 67 apartments. Rooftop gardens, courtyards and common green spaces at ground level work to create a sense of community and shared spaces for residents of both destinations.<br/><br/>In keeping with the design aim to create buildings with different characters, a diverse range of Alspec's window and door framing products were included across the two sites. The use of different products and finishes, along with varied building forms and shapes, has given a sense of different environments and individual characters to each building.<br/><br/>Alspec's ProGlide High Performance Sliding Doors were chosen for these openings as they have the necessary performance credentials and will provide durable and secure access. Openable window styles was determined by the location and purpose, with a mixture of 50mm Awning Windows, Top Hung Awning Windows and View-Max® Commercial Sliding Windows used as appropriate for each situation and building.<br/><br/>The Uno features a soaring entrance and foyer area appropriate to the larger site, while the Jade's entry is a more understated standard height reflecting the building's boutique nature. The entrance facades were constructed by integrating Swan Evo 45mm Commercial Doors with McArthur Evo Centre Pocket Framing. A favourite of architects, the McArthur Evo system is ideal for use in building entrances and shopfronts, while the Swan Evo doors with their centre-pocket glazing provide a secure and durable choice for mixed use developments.
