› The four broiler sheds are tunnel ventilated, fully automated and meet the chicken processor’s and the RSPCA’s standards.
› The farm is on a five-year rolling contract with Turosi, one of Victoria’s largest chicken meat processors and enjoys a regular and consistent income stream from its rearing of broiler chickens for meat production. The owners are paid a fixed amount every month.
› The farm has a permit for 168,800 birds and is currently placed at approximately 134,500 (RSPCA).
› The sheds comprise a range of new equipment including Rotem Platinum Pro computers, mini vents, mini vent winches, led lights, drinkers, new fans and new coolroom panel to three of the sheds. A substantial amount of coolroom panel has also been fixed to the shed roofs.
› All sheds feature three digital cameras. The sheds are controlled from the home office with footage and audio from all cameras.
› The homestead comprises three bedrooms, study, large lounge, fully renovated kitchen and bathroom, reverse cycle air conditioning and a large rear deck for entertaining and outdoor living.
› Other improvements include a six-bay implement shed, four-bay tractor shed with toilet, workshop, pump/filtration shed and portable site office.
› Water for the poultry operation is supplied by the three large dams, with water filtered and chlorinated prior to its use inside the sheds. There are two bores, one that is equipped and used at the house, and a second unequipped bore.
› Three-phase electricity and bottled gas are connected to the property and there is a brand-new Caterpillar primary back-up generator of 200 KVA as well as a secondary back-up generator.
