Construction complete February 2021
>>> ARRIVAL
Immediately upon arriving at Avenue, you will be taken back by the striking façade. Each townhome is framed by the continuous zinc standing seam, alongside charred timber and feature brick. Avenue presents these traditional materials in a contemporary way to provide a timeless design.
Longevity was critical when choosing these materials. Just like the historic zinc roofs of Paris, or the ancient Japanese technic of charring timber to improve weatherability, Avenue is built to be inspired and to last. It is the creative success of design partner, ADDARC.
Extensive, high quality landscaping is featured throughout Avenue. On arrival, guests are greeted by lush gardens design by award-winning Jack Merlo Landscape Design, with a charred timber arbour connecting the materiality of the façade to the landscape and Boston Ivy interwoven throughout the arbour. Bright white flowers from the ornamental pear trees and white myrtle canopy trees provide contrast and softness to the overall composition of the built form with integrated lighting design illuminating your experience.
>>> GROUND
The entry provides a statement for the grandeur awaiting inside. Deep metal shrouds extrude beyond the door that opens to 3m high ceilings. Townhome 5 is unlike the others, with its 3 bedrooms each with their own ensuite and a master bedroom at ground and level 1. This unique townhome from the collection provides a seamless experience between indoor and outdoor living.
Unique elements extend into the kitchen. Where there is normally an overhead rangehood, there is continuous stone splashback all the way to the 3m ceiling. This design is achieved by adopting the Miele downdraft telescopic exhausted. With a push of a button the exhaust unit rises up from the marble bench, pauses for dramatic effect, then lights up the cooking area.
The island bench has stone waterfall on three sides with a Miele fully integrated dishwasher, plus oven and microwave. Adding warmth to the kitchen is the Evenex timber laminate concealing the cupboards and the separately integrated Miele fridge and freezer.
The ground floor is finished with timber flooring that contains light grey elements that connect the palette of the stone and joinery. The living area opens out to the rear courtyard with flush, zero-threshold, full-height openable windows onto a layered landscape area featuring a honey locusts canopy tree and wrap-around hedging.
>>> LEVEL 1
Each level is accessed via the curved staircase. The level 1 landing has an integrated study desk and full height window. Entering the bedrooms reveals the soaring 4.4m high cathedral ceilings, capturing the angles of the zinc pitched roof. Full height gabled windows light the room with shadow play from the vertical details outside.
The ensuite is completed with a large shower, stone vanity and full-height tiles.
>>> BASEMENT
Your home comes with a private 2-car, secure garage. A multipurpose room within the basement has structure and wiring to be fitted out with a golf simulator or home theatre (a very favourable deal can be done with the developer on these options). An exceptionally large laundry and under stair storage rooms adds additional storage space to an already large townhome.
All gardens are watered via the rainwater collection tanks in the basement. Each townhome has its own solar-power system and internet is delivered via the gold-standard in NBN infrastructure; fibre-to-the-premises. Avenue has private waste collection via the basement, so there is no need to worry about bins.
>>> MOVE IN FEB 2021
The ‘Avenue by Skelton’ townhomes will be completed in February 2021. Private inspection outside of trade hours can be arranged by appointment. Unlike many projects delivered under a ‘design and construct’ agreement with the builder, Avenue has been delivered on construct only terms – meaning the developer is the only decision maker and there is no compromise or substitution on quality.
