Insulation & Air tight Construction:
The envelope of a home affects your energy consumption, as a poorly insulated home has greater fluctuations in temperature. This home has been designed with the highest quality in insulation. It's Roof has R7.7 (compared R4 in a standard home) and the walls are R3.8 (compared to R2 in a standard home).
Air-tightness forms the basis to an energy efficient, healthy home and allows control over your indoor conditions, this is why it has been a top priority. The addition of the Steibel Eltron HRV (Heat Recovery Ventilation) System, allows for optimal ventilation and reduces the risk of condensation and mould.
Double Glazed Windows:
The design of the home allows as much natural light to enter, therefore the windows are double glazed and thermally broken to ensure no heat or cold transfer, adding to the homes ability to remain comfortable all year round.
Reverse brick veneer & Hydronic underfloor heating:
Reverse brick veneer allows for passive heating and cooling. The central brick wall releases heat in winter and is shaded in summer to aid in keeping you cool. The underfloor heating will rarely be needed, but it is there to aid in heating the home using renewable energy. In winter it transfers the heat back through the brick wall.
