Uralla is a town on the Northern Tablelands, New South Wales. It is approximately half way between Sydney and Brisbane. Boasting a rich history, Uralla has more than 50 buildings and sites of heritage significance. The community collectively bought and restored McCrossins Mill in the 1980s, and it is now a multi-award-winning museum, gallery and function centre, as well as the starting point for the heritage walk. Uralla is in close proximity to the planned solar and wind farms in the New England district. Uralla has its own train station connecting it to Sydney and Newcastle, about a 20 minute walk from the house. The private coach company Edwards provides several bus services daily to nearby Armidale and the Armidale Airport. Being a country town, however, a car is the best way to get around Uralla and its outlying areas.
